This week the tote bags you purchased will be sent home with your child. These bags are for our community service project.

CEPUDO  is an organiztion that helps many different areas of our community. One of the amazing things they do is collect donations for new moms  who deliver their babies in Hospital Materno Infantil.
They donate a bag of " new born essentials" to the mothers.

How can you help?

We are asking you to go through your child's new born baby clothes and donate pajamas, new born outfits, socks, blankets.

You may also purchase new clothing items and baby essentials
such as baby shampoo, soap, lotion, diapers, bottles etc.

Your child can ask family members to help out with this project too.

Feel free to donate as much as you wish.

Send your bag back to school with your donations.

Dr.Seuss Read - A - Thon

continues!

Thank you to all

the students that have

sent in videos,or brought

in drawings, and have

discussed their books

with us.

 Keep up the great work!

This week we will be working with letter Hh. The vocabulary that we are going to be focusing on is the following: hamburger, hammer, hanger, hospital, honey, hippopotamus, hose, hopscotch, helmet, helicopter, hive, hair, hay, hot dog, and hula hoops.

If you have any items at home that begin with this letter, send them over with your child and we will be discussing them in class, we will display them on a table and we will return them back on Friday. The kids get excited to bring things from home.
Some of the stories that we will be reading this week are:

Where is Baby Hippo hiding? We will help his mother find him in this hilarious hide-and-seek story that teaches the letter H.

Harry is a white dog with black spots who loves everything . . . except for baths. So one day before bath time, Harry runs away. He plays outside all day long, digging and sliding in everything from garden soil to pavement tar. By the time he returns home, Harry is so dirty he looks like a black dog with white spots. His family doesn't even recognize him!

Our new sight words for this week are:  me, love, will, from, get, draw.

Please practice these words at home with your child. This last quarter we will be focusing on 6 sight words every two weeks.

It is important for students to learn sight words in order to help them become fluent readers. Remember that sight words are words students are able to read upon “sight” without having to sound them out. They help facilitate reading comprehension giving students a better opportunity to understand other words in context as they read.

In math, we will continue working on addition and  subtraction. The students will be using different strategies to solve the problems.

The Kindergarten students are

preparing for our Science Fair. We

have discussed the scientific method.

The experiments we will be

preforming include all of the steps of

the scientific method. The students

really are enjoying themselves.We will

be preforming various experiments in class the next couple of

weeks.

On April 5th the students will be presenting their

experiments. You are invited to watch their
