Week of January 7th - January 11th

It is wonderful to be back and with lots of expectations for the New Year 2013. We hope you had a restful and joyful Christmas break. During the break the children tend to forget or need to review some of the concepts we have been previously studying. This week we will review letters, sounds, vocabulary, we will also review mathematical concepts.

We are going to introduce the letter Oo and we are also going to be talking about Opposites.

During this week we are going to be talking about our New Year’s Resolution. We are going to post the children’s resolutions for you to read them as soon as we have them.

We would like to give a BIG AND WARM WELCOME to our Kindergarten Class to Benicio Lopez. He is joining us today from USA.

HERE ARE A FEW REMINDERS TO START OFF THE YEAR RIGHT!

Sweaters/Jackets and Other Objects: we ask parents to label all their child’s belongings with a permanent marker. This makes it easier for us to help you look for things if they are misplaced or lost. We also ask for your cooperation by sending back with your child any item he/she brings home that does not belong to him, and to notify the homeroom teacher about it.

Report Cards and Conferences: Report Cards will be issued on Friday, January 11th. This is an early dismissal day for students. Conferences are on a need basis.

We wish you all the best this year! Welcome back!

We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day. Edith Lovejoy Pierce
