Week of September 17th - September 21st

We hope you have all had a restful holiday. Thank you very much to all the parents for the delicious food you sent last Thursday. The children really enjoyed having a Honduran typical breakfast.

This week we will be doing letter Ee. The word of the week is egg and we will be doing lots of activities with egg cartons.

We will also start an interesting unit about Planet Earth in which we will discuss day and night, the Earth’s rotation, the sun, the moon and much more. The children will even have an opportunity to act it out!

Progress reports will be sent home today Tuesday September 18th. Please make sure you sign and return them to school as soon as possible.
It is unbelievable that we are half way through the first quarter of Kindergarten. This report is to let you know how your child is doing in school.

We would like to let you know that we have started Read Aloud Time. We are reading a book called Dinosaurs Before Dark by Mary Osborne from the Magic Tree House Series. This is to develop your child’s comprehension in reading. Reading aloud can make a difference in the lives of young children!

This Friday, September 21 the Seniors will be offering games and activities to celebrate Dia Del Niño during lunch time. If you have not done so, please send in the L50 that were requested as a cover charge for this activity.

NUTRITION TALK TO OUR DISCOVERY SCHOOL PARENTS: Organized by Ms. Erika Corletto and sponsored by Pediasure. This talk will be offered by Eda Flefil, a nutritionist that will be talking about the benefits of a well balanced diet. Please join us on Friday, September 21 at 2:30 p.m. in our school library.

We are back with Kindergarten Kafe. The child in charge of bringing the ingredients for this Friday September 21st is Andrea Bautista. Thank you in advance!

Your children need your presence more than your presents.
