WEEK OF MARCH 26 – 30, 2012

  Dear Parents,

This week we will study letter Ww. The children will enjoy learning about the water cycle, and concepts such as evaporation and precipitation.

We would like to ask all the Kindergarten Parents to label everything with your child’s name. This includes plastic containers that the children bring in their lunchboxes, sweaters, jackets, water bottles, etc. This is to avoid losing these belongings. This way it is easier for us to know who do they belong.

The Easter Egg Hunt is on Friday,March 30th on Ekaterinas house located in El Hatillo. We will be leaving school at 9:40 a.m and coming back around 2:30 p.m .Thank you for your support.

There is no school from Monday April 2nd – Tuesday, April 10th.
We hope you all can enjoy this break. Be safe and we will see everyone back again on Wednesday, April 11th.

We are not going to have Kindergarten Kafe this Friday.

If there is anything we wish to change in the child, we should first examine it and see whether it is not something that could better be changed in ourselves.

WEEK OF MARCH 19 – 23, 2012

Dear Parents,

Welcome back! We hope you had a wonderful long weekend and were able to get enough rest, or at least spend some enjoyable time with your children.

This week we will be doing letter Vv. The word of the week is van. The children are going to be very busy as we will cover volcanoes, Venn diagrams, and we will review vowels. We are going to be doing a lot of activities regarding ending sounds.

If you have any interesting books on Volcanoes that you would like to share with the class we will gladly show them to the class.

This Friday, March 23rd, is an early dismissal day (PM Schedule). The children will leave school at 11:45 a.m.
We shall be sending report cards home and we will be conferring with some of the parents.

I brought children into this dark world because it needed the light that only a child can bring. Liz Armbuster

WEEK OF MARCH 12 TO MARCH 16, 2012

Dear Parents,

This week we will be studying the letter Uu. We will be talking about underwater life. If you have any books that we could borrow we would appreciate your cooperation. Every morning your child has two jobs to do> a classroom chore and matching his/her last name with his/her phone number. Most of them can now say their phone number by themselves. Make sure you ask your child and you will be amazed at the results.

Last week we made tacos in our Kindergarten Kafe. Thanks Isamu  and Jackson for donating the ingredients.

This Friday there is NO SCHOOL!!!

The Elementary Student Council is hosting an activity this Thursday, March 15.

The Elementary Student Council wants to buy a pair of balls for each class, and in order to do so they will have their first actitivity this Thursday, March 15, during snack and lunch recesses. They will be selling charamuscas (frozen juice in plastic bags), have arm wrestling (grades K to 2 grade will always win!) There will be surprises for the winners: bubbles, stickers, pencils, erasers, etc.  Also two girls from 5th grade wrote a book “My Teacher is an Alien” and we were thinking about selling their book on that day for 20 Lempiras. The Elementary Student Council is requesting that on this day everyone in Elementary school will wear a green shirt or pants. Each child will be asked to bring 10 Lempiras to participate in the activities and 20 additional Lempiras in case they want to buy the book.

WEEK OF MARCH 5 TO MARCH 9, 2012

Dear Parents

This week we will begin to work with the letter Tt. As we already mentioned in our last blog, we will continue with rhyming words and word families.

We will begin to study how to tell time to the hour. The children will be playing a variety of games to help them understand how to tell time and the different kinds of clocks around us.

We will be learning about different kinds of transportation. The students will be able to identify the kind of transportation used to travel by air, sea and land.

This week we will be playing a telephone game. We will be working on helping them learn a home or cell phone number. This is important personal information that could assist your child in case of an emergency. Additionally, we will be learning on how to spell our last names.

This Friday, Jacob Anderson and  Isamu Ryan will be in charge of providing the ingredients for Kindergarten Kafe.
