WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 5th to 9th, 2011

This week we are ready to start with the letter Dd. The word of the week is dog. This week we will be reading and discussing fun facts about dinosaurs. We will begin counting up to 20 and will review letter sound recognition from Aa to Dd.

As part of the festivities for our Independence Day Celebration on Tuesday September 13th, we will be having a POT LUCK SNACK on Tuesday. Each student should bring a typical Honduran breakfast/snack to share with 5 classmates. food or drinks. Teachers will let parents know what to contribute to minimize repeats  of food and drinks. DO NOT SEND A SNACK FOR THIS DAY! The school is also encouraging children (and teachers) to wear “Honduran” clothes on this day. This may be a typical Honduran outfit (traje tipico), the National Soccer Team sports outfit, any creative dress up that is representative of Honduras, or simply blue and white clothes.
This day is also an early dismissal; the children will be leaving at 11:45 a.m. Also, remember that Wednesday September 14th, Thursday September 15th and Friday September 16th are holidays. We will be back in school on Monday September 19th.

Thanks to Mateo Deras and Jackon Brown who donated the ingredients for our last Kindergarten Kafe the children had a great time making a tasty cat. This week Naima Nagamba Haidara and Max Irey shall be donating the ingredients for this week’s Kindergarten Kafe, thank you children!!!
