I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
This
week we are going to be studying letter ”Uu”.
The vocabulary words that we are going to be focusing on are the
following: upstairs, upside down, underwear, umpire, umbrella, up, and
under.Some stories that we are going to be reading this week are:
Umbrella bird is very unhappy about his unusual feather until
they save the day!
Carlos walks into the cloud forest with his green umbrella,
where the only sound is the steady, drip, drip, drip of drops falling
from the trees. Carlos is sure that he will see lots of
animals.He leaves his umbrella at the foot of a giant
fig tree and climbs up for a better look.We'll discover what he sees.
The
meanings of "up" are conveyed with merry verse and illustrations in a
happy book that celebrates the joy of life.
In Math, we are going to be introducing number 17. The
children will make sets with this number. We are also going to be
constructing pictographs. Each child will have the chance to create
their own graph.
The sight words we are going to be studying for the next
couple of weeks are: had, by, can, or, seven, eight,brown Thanksgiving, turkey,feathers
We will begin discussing NOUNS. We will continue working on Beginning and Ending sounds.

any magazines you have at home with lots of pictures.

MIDTERM PROGRESS REPORTS–Progress reports will go home this Friday, November 16th. Please read and discuss the report with your child. The report needs to be signed and returned to school. If you wish to conference with a teacher, please do not hesitate to contact the school to set up an appointment. They must be signed and returned to school by Monday,
Thanksgiving Holiday
No school on Thursday November 22nd and Friday November 23rd.
Classes reume on Monday November 26th.
