Dear Parents,

I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday! This week is evaluation week for the students. I will be evaluating all the material covered in this first quarter. The students will be evaluated on the following areas:
Letters Aa, Bb, Mm, Pp, Ss, Tt
Your child should be able to:
Identify each letter,
Produce the letter sound 
Produce at least 3 words that begin with the  letter.

Sight Words: Your child should be able to recognize and name the following words:
a, and, the, I, to, it, is, in, you, that, he,was, for, on , are,

Math: 
Name and make sets with the numbers 1-12. 
Count backwards from 10. 
Name a number that is 1 more and 1 less a given number
Patterns, Shapes, Same/Different, Sequencing Numbers

Phonemic Awareness: 
Distinguish between a letter, a word, and a sentence
Clap syllables
Beginning sounds
Identify rhyming words

We will be Learning about Christopher Columbus.
If you have a compass or telescope you would like to share with our class . We would love to have it for the week.





We will also be talking about our "Families". The vocabulary we will be discussing is mother, father,brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, uncle, aunt, cousin

Please send in family pictures so we can discuss and share them in class.

FUNDACION ABRIGO – Is an organization which provides lodging for families from outside Tegucigalpa who bring their families/patients to the largest state medical facility, Hospital Escuela. Discovery School in solidarity with Fundacion Abrigo is asking for a donation of 1 GALON OF DISINFECTANT per family by Friday, October 28. Thank you very much! It is always far better to give than to receive!
