We
would like to thank each one of you for making our Kinder Zoo a special event.
We had an outstanding time learning about the different animal groups and each
one of their characteristics. The children did an amazing job with their
presentations.
We
also had an outstanding time last week learning a lot about Dr. Seuss. This
week we are going to continue talking about him and watching some of his
stories. If you would like to come in and do a special activity/craft or simply
read to the students, do not hesitate to contact us so we can make it possible.
On Friday we will be watching a movie and we will be eating sundaes. Here is
the dress-up calendar for this week:
Monday:
Pijama Day
Tuesday:
Mix –Match Day
Wednesday:
Crazy Hair Day
Thursday:
Hat and tie Day
Friday:
Red, White & Blue Day (Thing1 & Thing 2)
Report cards are
around the corner and we are going to be reviewing all the concepts that we
have covered in class. This includes all the letters of the alphabet studied in
this quarter, math concepts, writing CVC words and the sight words.
We
have talked to the students that we have started the hot season in Honduras.
Please provide your child with a water bottle every day. Have them wear light
clothes; they can bring a hat to protect from the sun, put sunscreen on their
face and arms.
In Honduras we celebrate Father´s Day on
March 19th. We would like to invite all of our DADDIES to have Donuts with your
child on Friday March 18th at 8:00 a.m. We are planning on having
something nice prepared for you. We hope you can come and spend some time with
your child at school.
Easter is around the corner and
we are planning to have our Easter Egg Hunt at Giulliana’s small farm located
in Tatumbla on Thursday, March 17th. We are planning to leave school at 8:00
a.m. and come back at 12:00 m. If you have not sent the money for these two
celebrations, please do so as soon as possible.
Also we are requesting for each child to
bring 5 eggshells. The children will decorate them at school to take to the
party. To do this, you simply make a hole with a needle at each end of the egg.
Blow through one of the holes until all the egg white and yolk has come out.
Please make sure that you clean them
and have them sent to school completely dry. These eggshells should be
in school by Monday, March 14th. If you can send more than 5 they
are more than welcome.
LICE – We once again have
several cases of lice at school. Lice are common in all schools this time of
year and there is no reason for shame. Parental cooperation is crucial in
effectively eradicating this small epidemic. The school nurse will check
students for lice, and a student will be able to come back to school once there
are no more lice/nits on the student and has been cleared by our school nurse.
Please help us by sending your child back to school once you have gotten
treated the problem, and please understand that the measures we take are to
ensure the well-being of our students.
PRESENTATION FOR PARENTS - We cordially invite all DS school
parents to attend a presentation that will be given by the Lic. Manuel Morales
on the topic “The Four Types of
Parents”. This presentation will take place on Thursday, March 10, at 12:00 p.m., in the Conference Room. The
school will be providing some refreshments. We hope you will be able to attend!
III QUARTER REPORT CARDS AND
CONFERENCES - Report cards will be sent home with
your child on Friday, March 18, if there is no need for a conference. An email
will be sent home if you need to come to school and meet with your child’s
teacher(s). Parent teacher conferences will be held that same Friday, March 18 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. We strongly advise you to come to school
and meet with your child's teachers.
