Dear
Parents,
This
week we are going to be working with the letter Yy. The vocabulary that we are
going to be focusing on is the following: yo-yo, yarn, yellow, yak,
yogurt, yawn, yard, and yolk.
If you have any items at home that begin with this
letter, send them over with your child and we will be discussing them in class,
we will display them on a table and we will return them back on Friday. The
kids get excited to bring things from home.
Some
of the stories that we will be reading this week are:
A
young yak thinks new foods are yucky until she learns a yummy lesson. Kids will
shout "Yippee" when we share this engaging tale that teaches the
letter Y.
Little blue and little yellow share wonderful adventures. One day, they
can't find one another. When they finally meet, they are overjoyed. They hug
until they become green. But where did little blue and little yellow go? Are
they lost?
One day, in her dark and dreary world, Annabelle finds a box of colorful
yarn. She knits a sweater for herself and her dog. At first the
townspeople criticize her for her colorful appearance – but it turns out they
want sweaters too. Eventually Annabelle has created sweaters for everyone
and everything in town.
We will continue working with the
sight words introduced last week: down,
them, some, blue, and three.
In Phonemic Awareness we will work with words that begin with TH and
just T. For example: Turtle, Tiger, Tomato, Table, THirteen, THumb, THink,
THree,
This week we are going to be wrapping our unit on Space. Last week we
talked about Jupiter. This week we are going to be talking about Saturn,
Uranus, and Neptune. This unit has been of a lot of interest to the children.
They loved learning facts about each of the planets. Ask them questions and you
will be surprised of all the things they know of each one of them. Do you know
which one is the hottest planet? If you do not know, your child does!!!!
We will be closing our school year
with a unit about Children
Around the World. We will
mainly be discussing traditions and culture of other countries. If you happen
to have anything about your country that you would like to share with us, let
us know so we can schedule something nice. It can be a traditional story,
traditional foods, dances, clothes, etc. It
would be nice to bother some things of your countries.
We are requesting 2 carnet size
picture of your child for their Kindergarten Diploma. Please send these
pictures before Friday, May 15th. Thank You!!!
Children in charge of donating Kinder
Kafe materials are Ethan Paredes and Felipe Funez.
Our End of the Year Party will take place on Tuesday, May 26th
at Rancho 1 of BCIE club. The committee met last week and is requesting Lps.

place, transportation, snack, drinks, lunch, t-shirt, decoration, etc. Please
send this money no later than Friday, May 15th so things can be

SPRING GENERAL ASSEMBLY – We want to remind our parents that our Spring General Assembly will take place this Saturday, May 16 at 9:00 a.m. We need to reach a quorum for this General Assembly and be able to vote on budget, calendar and school improvements. The DPTO is offering a Pizza Party to the Grade that has the most parents attending the General Assembly!
