Dr.Seuss Read - A - Thon
continues!
Thank you to all
the students that have
sent in videos,or brought
in drawings, and have
discussed their books
with us.
Keep up the great work!
Easter is right around the
corner.
Please send in 1 dozen plastic
eggs with your child.
This week we are going to be working
with the letter Qq. The vocabulary that
we are going to be focusing on is the
following: quarter, quail, queen, quiet,
quick, question mark, quilt, and quiche.
If you have any items at home that begin with this letter, send them over with your child and we will be discussing them in class, we will display them on a table and we will return them back on Friday. The kids get excited to bring things from home.
Some of the stories that we will be reading this week are:
Quincy Quail can’t stand Dotty Duck’s loud quacking. We will learn how a noisy friend can be quite wonderful in this touching tale that teaches the letter Q.
Queen Daisy had a great deal of trouble with her feet. They had a mind of their own and did not like behaving in a royal way. Proper shoes were out of the question, and sometimes her feet did not wear shoes at all! Her feet were especially naughty when Queen Daisy forced them to dress properly.
"Quick, Quack, quick!" his mama urges, but Quack is still the slowest duckling in the barnyard. Nothing can make him hurry. Then, one day, Cat comes a-hunting, and Quack's less than lickety-split ways help save the day.
One day a tiny cricket is born and meets a big cricket who chirps his welcome. The tiny cricket tries to respond, but there is no sound. The quiet cricket then makes his way into the world, meeting one insect after another, each of whom greets the little cricket with a cheery hello

Please practice these words at home with your child. This last quarter we will be focusing on 6 sight words every two weeks.
It is important for students to learn sight words in order to help them become fluent readers. Remember that sight words are words students are able to read upon “sight” without having to sound them out. They help facilitate reading comprehension giving students a better opportunity to understand other words in context as they read.
In math, we will work
on adding doubles.
We will also introduce the concept
LESS THAN , GREATER
THAN, & EQUAL TO .
The Kindergarten students are
preparing for our Science Fair. We
have discussed the scientific method.
The experiments we will be
preforming include all of the steps of
the scientific method. The students
really are enjoying themselves.We will
be preforming various experiments in class the next
couple of weeks.
On April 5th the students will be presenting
their experiments. You are invited to watch
their presentations, more information to come
