Everyone will enjoy the Musical Review the Early Childhood students are preparing for you. After the show Dad's will share breakfast with their child in the classroom. Moms will enjoy their coffee/ juice and some baked goods outside.

The dress code for fathers day show is 80's rock star.

Please do not buy anything use what you have at   home, and try to recreate a 80's look inspired on the    pictures below.

At 9:30 Kindergarten will be leaving school and traveling to Rosy Walther Metropolitan Zoo up at El Picacho. Moms are welcome to join us. Permission slips will be sent home Monday in your child's folder.
The cost of the Field Trip is 100 Lempiras per child. This includes transportation and park fees. You will need to send a packed lunch with your child and a water bottle.
Moms if you are interested in joining us let me know.

To wrap up our unit on Animals, we will be  hosting our  KINDER ZOO on March Tuesday 21st. We will assign an animal to your child this week.
Your child needs to a create a 3D model of his/ her  animal and have it ready to display it in our room .This is to be done at home. We will research facts about the animals here at school. Your child will practice these facts at home.
On March 21st children from other grades, teachers, and parents will be invited to our presentation. Your child can come dressed as a scientist, zoo keeper, or even the animal represented!!! Please be creative, help your child come up with the ideas. This is a fun family project!! MARK YOUR CALENDARS so you can join the fun!!!

This week we are going to be introducing the letter Hh. The vocabulary that we are going to be focusing on is the following: hamburger, hammer, hanger, hospital, honey, hippopotamus, hose, hopscotch, helmet, helicopter, hive, hair, hay, hot dog, and hula hoops. We would like for you to know that we will continue with this letter the week we come back from our Easter Break.
If you have any items at home that begin with this letter, send them over with your child and we will be discussing them in class, we will display them on a table and we will return them back on Friday. The kids get excited to bring things from home.
Some of the stories that we will be reading this week are:

Where is Baby Hippo hiding? We will help his mother find him in this hilarious hide-and-seek story that teaches the letter H.

Harry is a white dog with black spots who loves everything . . . except baths. So one day before bath time, Harry runs away. He plays outside all day long, digging and sliding in everything from garden soil to pavement tar. By the time he returns home, Harry is so dirty he looks like a black dog with white spots. His family doesn't even recognize him!

Our new sight words for this week are: me, me, love, no, from, boy. Please practice these words at home with your child.
It is important for students to learn sight words in order to help them become fluent readers. Remember that sight words are words students are able to read upon “sight” without having to sound them out. They help facilitate reading comprehension giving students a better opportunity to understand other words in context as they read.

In Math we will be introducing Solid Figures. We will be looking around the classroom for these types of shapes and we will be discussing objects in our environment that can represent each shape. PLEASE, if you have any item at home that can be useful to teach this unit, we would greatly appreciate it if you can send them over. You might want to look around your house for a ball, a dice, paper towel tube, etc.

Your child will be taking home an assigned book to read. Please have your child read it once a day. Make sure he/she uses her "magic finger" as her guide while he/she reads. This allows the child to actually read every word of the text. Our goal is for your child to gain confidence and fluency when reading this is why it is okay for them to read the same book over and over.
