Dear Parents,
Can you believe it ! November already. Time sure does fly. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
In Kindergarten we learn about many things. We teach our students about sharing and helping out. Angelitos Del Dia is a perfect way to help show our kids just how easy this can be and how we can make a difference in our community.
"Angelitos del Dia" helps out newborn babies born in Materno Infantil here in Tegucigalpa. They provide moms with newborn essentials (blankets, pajamas, socks, hats, wash cloths, towels, diapers, baby wipes, baby soap and baby shampoo).
Your child will be taking an empty bag home this week. Please feel free to donate as many items as you wish by placing them in the bag. Send the bag back by November 28th.

This
week we are going to be working with the letter Ll. The vocabulary for the week are: lollipop, lizard,
lemon, light bulb, ladder, lamb, lips, lobster, library, lamp, lightning,
lettuce, ladybug, lid, and log.
Some
of the stories we are going to be reading this week are:
Lulu the Lamb doesn’t
know when to stop laughing until Lion teaches her a lesson.
In this infectious rhyming read-aloud, Baby Llama turns bedtime into an all-out llama drama! Tucked into bed by his mama, Baby Llama immediately starts worrying when she goes downstairs, and his soft whimpers turn to hollers when she doesn't come right back. But just in time, Mama returns to set things right.
This
story explores the concepts of time, size and manners through the exploits of
one very grouchy ladybug. When it refuses to share aphids with another ladybug,
the grouchy insect flies off to pick a fight an hour with a succession of
ever-larger animals.
In
Math, we are going to be introducing number 16. The children will make sets
with this number. We will be graphing this week. We will be using pictographs to read and interpret the graphs. Each child
will have the chance to create their own graph.
We will continue to
work with the sight words introduced last week: be, can, at, see, this, have Please practice these words daily. Do not forget to review the past 20 sight words also.
In
Science, we will begin our Food Unit . We are going to be discussing healthy
and unhealthy snacks. We are also going to introduce them the Food Pyramid and
talk about each type of food. If you have any books or posters,
or any other material that you would like to share with us please send them in.
