WEEK OF JUNE 3 – 7, 2013

Dear Parents,

On Tuesday , Wednesday, and Thursday are early dismissal days the children will leave school at 11:45 a.m.

The big day has arrived!!! This coming Friday, your child will be graduating from Kindergarten.
On this day the children do not need to come to school at 8:00 a.m.
The ceremony will start at 1 p.m. Please take note on this since we would like to have all the children in school by 12 m due that we have to go over last details with them and put on their hats. Traffic gets a little bit hectic on Fridays so PLEASE take it into consideration while planning the time you decide to leave your house.
The children have been practicing really hard for this day and it would be very sad to start the ceremony without one of them.
We do not have a specific dress code for the children. However, we believe that this is a memorable day for them so that is why we are requesting the girls to come in a nice dress and the boys to come wearing dark pants (please avoid jeans, high heels, sneaker and shorts), and a nice long sleeve shirt. We will also appreciate no pony tails for the girls since they are going to wear a graduation hat

IMPORTANT SCHOOL NOTICES:

CONCRETE PLANT UPDATE – The school has filed official denuncias in four agencies, attaching the documents that parents and teachers signed to each one. We are now in the process of investigating the plant with technicians, as suggested by the Alcaldia, to stop them from operating. The school's lawyer is following all legal means of halting the development of the concrete plant. We invite and encourage parents to come forward with any information, suggestion or idea that may help us to keep this process on the go by contacting Wendy Willemsen as President of the Board atwendywillemsen4@gmail.com. We will continue to update the school community regularly with new developments.
EARLY DISMISSALS – Monday, June 3 is a full day of school. Tuesday, June 4, Wednesday, June 5 and Thursday, June 6 are early dismissal days. We ask our parents to plan accordingly.

It has been a pleasure teaching your child this school year and we wish them the best in First Grade. It is hard to see them leave our classrooms but we know that it has been a year of growth in your children’s lives. We have enjoyed every minute of it!!!  We would like to share a nice poem with you:

When I started kindergarten
I was very, very small
I have grown so much bigger now
Can't you see how tall?

I've learned to read and write
and to try my best with all my might.

Like a seed that was planted
with a gentle hand and spade
I've bloomed and I'm ready
to move on to first grade!!

And this is what teachers say to the Kindergarten Parents….

We give you back your child, the same child you confidently entrusted to our care last August. We give him back pounds heavier, inches taller, months wiser, more responsible, and more mature then he was then.
Although he would have attained his growth in spite of me, it has been my pleasure and privilege to watch his personality unfold day by day and marvel at this splendid miracle of development.
I give him back reluctantly, for having spent ten months together in the narrow confines of a classroom, we have grown close, have become a part of each other, and we shall always retain a little of each other.
We have lived, loved, laughed, played, studied, learned, and enriched our lives together this year. I wish it could go on indefinitely, but give him back I must. Take care of him, for he is precious.
Remember that we shall always be interested in your child and his destiny, wherever he goes, whatever he does, whoever he becomes. His joys and sorrows we will always be happy to share.
