Week of October 1st - October 5th

This week we will begin working with letter Gg. We will be reading the book Green Eggs and Ham from Dr. Seuss, and the children will get a chance to taste green eggs with ham!!! We will be graphing Gummy Bears!!

G is for Green!!! On Thursday, October 4thwe are planning to have “Green Day”. The children can come to school wearing anything green. It can be a cap, shirt, pants, skirt, socks, belt, shoes, bracelet, etc. Thank you for your help.

On October 2nd we will begin writing EVERY DAY in a journal. Each student is going to have his or her own journal that will be changed every month. Through daily writing experiences young children will move along various writing stages at different rates. Making journal writing a daily habit in kindergarten can help children learn and look forward to an opportunity to draw and write.

On Friday October 5th the kindergarten students will be visiting the fire station. Please send in your child’s permission slip as soon as possible. You will be able to find this form in your child’s folder today. Your child must wear his/her Discovery school shirt on this day.

We wish to thank Benjamin Atayi for bringing the ingredients of last week’s Kindergarten Kafe. The kids made a tasty fishbowl out of bread, cream cheese, and fish crackers. This week Cecilia Funez will be in charge of providing the ingredients for Kindergarten Kafe.

We thank our parents for their support and understanding in this matter, and encourage anyone who has a question to email our Head of School at debgilespk@yahoo.com

Thank you very much!!!
