WEEK OF MAY 31st TO JUNE 3rd

Dear Parents,

Ms. Giles would like to have a meeting this Wednesday June 1st at 7:00 a.m. with the Kindergarten parents. This is to discuss with them the plans we have for the beginning of the next school year.

The big day has arrived!!! This coming Friday, your child will be graduating from Kindergarten.
On this day the children do not need to come to school at 8:00 a.m.
The ceremony will start at 3:30 p.m. attending some of the parents’ request to start it earlier. Please take note on this since we would like to have all the children in school by 3:00 p.m. due that we have to go over last details with them and put on their hats. Traffic gets a little bit hectic on Fridays so PLEASE take it into consideration while planning the time you decide to leave your house.
The children have been practicing really hard for this day and it would be very sad to start the ceremony without one of them.
We do not have a specific dress code for the children. However, we believe that this is a memorable day for them so that is why we are requesting the girls to come in a nice dress and the boys to come wearing dark pants (please avoid jeans), and a nice white shirt.

It has been a pleasure teaching your child this school year and we wish them the best in First Grade. It is hard to see them leave our classrooms but we know that it has been a year of growth in your children’s lives. We have enjoyed every minute of it!!!  We would like to share a nice poem with you:

When I started kindergarten
I was very, very small
I have grown so much bigger now
Can't you see how tall?

I've learned to read and write
and to try my best with all my might.

Like a seed that was planted
with a gentle hand and spade
I've bloomed and I'm ready
to move on to first grade!!

And this is what teachers say to the Kindergarten Parents….

We give you back your child, the same child you confidently entrusted to our care last August. We give him back pounds heavier, inches taller, months wiser, more responsible, and more mature then he was then.
Although he would have attained his growth in spite of me, it has been my pleasure and privilege to watch his personality unfold day by day and marvel at this splendid miracle of development.
I give him back reluctantly, for having spent ten months together in the narrow confines of a classroom, we have grown close, have become a part of each other, and we shall always retain a little of each other.
We have lived, loved, laughed, played, studied, learned, and enriched our lives together this year. I wish it could go on indefinitely, but give him back I must. Take care of him, for he is precious.
Remember that we shall always be interested in your child and his destiny, wherever he goes, whatever he does, whoever he becomes. His joys and sorrows we will always be happy to share.

Dear Parents,

Time is flying by so fast and it is the time of the year in which we have to get ready for Graduation.

This week we are going to start practicing for this day. We will be learning a song that the students will sing during the ceremony. The Kindergarten students need to be at school by 3:30, since there will be no classes for them on this day.
The children are NOT required to attend school after their graduation.

We have been focusing on ending sounds. This week we will continue to work with syllables, word families and subtraction.
