WEEK OF APRIL 25-29

Dear Parents,

Welcome back! We hope you had a wonderful Easter Break and were able to get enough rest, or at least spend some enjoyable time with your children. This is a very short week and we will be reviewing the previous letters studied.

We are almost done with the alphabet and the children are excited to know that they are almost in First Grade.

The next activity scheduled for the school year is the Kindergarten Graduation. The Graduation is going to take place on June 3^rd at 4:00 p.m. at the school. You will be getting more information later in the week.

Next Monday there is NO SCHOOL!!! Honduran Labor Day.

WEEK OF APRIL 11 TO 14

Dear Parents,

This week we are going to introduce the letter Yy. We are almost done studying all the letters of the alphabet and the children are very excited to know that they are almost in First Grade.

This is Earth awareness month so we will be discussing how to save our natural resources and planet Earth. Feel free to send any books or information you might have that we could share with the children. We thank you for your help in advance.

Mrs. Tania Bruchmann has kindly offered her place for the Easter Egg Hunt which will take place on the 14^th of April in Restaurante La Cumbre. We would like to ask all the parents to send Lps. 150.00 if you would like your child to participate in this fun activity. This money will be used to buy the Easter baskets, plastic eggs, and treats. Mrs. Bruchmann will be providing the food and the drinks since she will be celebrating her son’s birthday at the same time.

We will be leaving school at 8:00 a.m. and coming back around 2:00 p.m.

Please send at least 5 egg shells by tomorrow if you have not done so in order to decorate them during centers.

There is no school from Friday, April 15^th – Tuesday, April 26^th.

We hope you all can enjoy this break. Be safe and we will see everyone back again on Wednesday, April 27^th.

WEEK OF APRIL 4 TO 8

Dear Parents,

This week we will study letter Xx. This week we will talk about extinct animals or animals in danger of extinction

Next week we are going to do our traditional Easter Egg Hunt which will be on the 14^th . We would like to ask all the parents to send Lps. 150.00 if you would like your child to participate in this fun activity. This money will be used to buy the Easter baskets, plastic eggs, and treats. 

Family night, sponsored by the DPTO will take place on Friday April 8th, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. The movies that has been chosen for the Elementary students is “DESPICABLE ME.” This is a nice time to come together as a community. We are encouraging all the families to come and bring friends along. All funds raised will be donated to the victims of the Japanese tsunami and earthquake.

Wednesday, April 6^th is an early dismissal for all Discovery School students. Elementary Teachers will be meeting as a whole group to discuss the Social Studies and Science content and curriculum. The buses will leave at 11:45.

This Friday, William Davis and  Sofia Zanoletty will be in charge of providing the ingredients for Kindergarten Kafe.
