WEEK OF NOVEMBER 29- DECEMBER 3

Dear Parents,

 We hope you all had a restful and wonderful thanksgiving break! This week we will study letter Ll. We will be learning about living and non-living things. We will be using lollipops for some addition activities we are going to be working on in the class.

We would like to thank all the parents for the wonderful Thanksgiving luncheon last Wednesday!! Thank you, thank you!!! This would not have been possible without your help! The Thanksgiving Committee did an outstanding job!!

This week we will start rehearsing for the Song Fest. You will be getting more information later in the week about this important event and what we will need from you to prepare the children for this day. For now, we want to remind you that this celebration will take place on Thursday, December 16^th at 6:00 p.m.

This week we will have Kindergarten Kafe and the children in charge of bringing the ingredients this week are David Martinez and Jose Alberto Molina.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 22-26

Dear Parents,

This is a very short and busy week in our Kindergarten Class. We are going to be doing a lot of activities related to Thanksgiving. We are going to be talking about the meaning of this important celebration. The children are going to be rehearsing a song and at the same time they are going to be the authors and illustrators of a book about things they feel thankful for.

We want to remind you that you are all invited to our Thanksgiving lunch. It is going to take place on Wednesday, November 24^th at 11:45 a.m. We understand that your time is valuable and that some of you need to return to your jobs. For this reason, we would like to emphasize that the celebration will start at the time stated above. It would be sad for you to miss your child performing, so please plan accordingly taking into consideration the traffic so that you can be in school right on time to start with the program.

We would like to extend a HUGE Thank you to Mrs. Doris Touchstone and Suselle Mueller for all their time and effort of organizing this celebration. If you have not sent the money of the Thanksgiving Lunch, please do so by tomorrow since we need to cover all the expenses.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 15-NOVEMBER 19

Dear Parents,

This week we are going to work with the letter Kk. We will be having fun making a kite with a friend. We will continue recognizing beginning sounds in words. We are also going to be having fun making fruit kabobs! Yummy!!!

Thanksgiving celebration is coming up soon. Please mark this important day in your calendar. We are going to be having a Thanksgiving Celebration on Wednesday, November 24^th at 11:45 a.m. Please check your child’s folder since today we are sending all the information that you need to be aware of. The parents who signed up for this school activity are: Suselle Mueller and Doris Touchstone. 

Thank you for all the hard work you have done!

We would like to remind you that on Friday November 19^th, there will be no school for the children. The teachers will be attending the workshop that Discovery School hosts each year.

We would like to give a warm welcome to HIROTAKA SUGAWARA. He joined our Kindergarten Class last week!!!

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 8-12

Dear Parents,

We hope you all had a restful and wonderful weekend! This week we will study letter Jj. The word of the week is jet. This week we will be graphing jelly beans. The children will     get to eat them afterwards. Yummy!!!

We are going to be playing some traditional games such as Jumping rope and Jacks. They both begin with the letter of the week!!!

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are photo days at Discovery School. We are scheduled to have our pictures taken on Tuesday at 8:10 a.m. Please send your son/daughter with his/her hair nicely brushed. We are going to be taking a group picture as well so try as hard as you can for your son/daughter not to be absent on this day.

This week we are going to be doing some addition activities. We are going to be introducing the signs of plus (+) and equal (=). We will be doing addition problems up to 5.

This week we will have Kindergarten Kafe and the child in charge of bringing the ingredients this week is Adriana Lanza

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEXANDER MUELLER!!! He is 6 years old now. His birthday was on November 6^th. We all enjoyed pizza and juice for lunch and a bag of treats last Friday.
